Given the conversation about a cliché quote used by leaders in the Christian world, there became an extension to it. My friend had an issue including a broken heart, a broken relationship, yet God given patience and an outstanding grip on hope and trust in the Lord. Completely walking by faith. This has brought so much peace to the situation. And God is already moving in favor of my friend swiftly. Given the circumstances of betrayal and a divided heart, most would walk away. Most would give up. The world finds it absurd to pray and wait and have patience. And continue to show support and love to a spouse that walked away and chose another. This is where you trust God and go where He leads you. I was reminded of how God is in every single detail whether you walk away from Him or not. I have done the unthinkable to God. I’ve walked away from Him, I drank, I tried different drugs (never having a vice to any particular substance), I participated in selling random substances aiding others to sin, I spit in God’s face and ran from Him in my teen years though I knew Jesus so intimately even then. I became the prodigal daughter. Show up and show out….. I cringe at the words. God was with me when I was faithful and seeking Him. And He was with me when I turned my back on Him. He kept me from hurtng other people, hurting myself, going to jail, or even dying in my sin (leaving me in hell). I came BACK to Jesus at the age of 20. I still struggle with sin and my flesh, I’m not where I want to be in my faith or where I think I should be. …. but THANK YOU JESUS I’m not were I was. THANK YOU GOD for not leaving me there or letting me die there. If it wasn’t for God “showing up and showing out” every single moment of my life, even when I lost my way and rebelled against Him, I wouldn’t be here. I wouldn’t have my kids. I wouldn’t be standing. God will meet you where you stand if you seek Him in your life. When your tired of the same routine and the spiraling out of control downward, when you just can’t take that next step, or you know there has to be more to life than this. If you are at these points in your life pray to God. Ask Him into your heart and to take the steering wheel in your life, and actuality let Him. (Hardest part to do is let go) Trust in God’s purpose and plan for you in your life. There is nothing in the world that gives a greater feeling, a greater happiness, a greater joy, a greater understanding, or greater love than following Jesus.
I was talking to a friend of mine on my hour drive home from work. I don’t mind the drive to the Brandon office a few days a week, it’s my only time to just be, call people and have adult convo not work related, praise and worship God, and pray. (Single mom issues) I was discussing Jesus and God and points in life where I’ve failed God, and turned away from Him. I presented something Shane taught me in the form of a question. All too often you hear preachers, pastors, etc day the phrase. “God showed up and showed out”…… I myself am at fault for having this “hype” my “spirituality”. Shane presented it to me this same way, with ease and love. When does God show up and NOT show out? I digress, in the morning I had asked another this same question. The response was “God is with us always, but at times let’s us try and do things ourselves so He is like on standy. So technically He always shows up, and sometimes shows out”. I agreed that God is always with us. He is watching everything we do and knows your heart better than you do!!! I then asked the next question, then why say “when God shows up” ? He is always with us. DO NOT GET IT TWISTED!! God IS always with you. Constantly moving in your life, at times in big huge ways and everyday in smaller scales leading to bigger ways. The saying is misleading, insinuating God either doesn’t show up or doesn’t work on your behalf; IE “show out”. The response I received was “it’s the cliché”. When did God become cliché? God is Authentic… His Word pure and true. It’s limits Jesus to our way of thinking. Constraining Him to a box that He only sometimes is with us, only sometimes protects, blesses, gives His favor, helps us, etc. My friend in the afternoon listened and I could almost hear the wheels spinning and things clicking. This is prompted an extended thought……. to be continued
9 “You must be on your guard. You will be handed over to the local councils and flogged in the synagogues. On account of me you will stand before governors and kings as witnesses to them. 10 And the gospel must first be preached to all nations. 11 Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.
What does Standing up for your faith look like? What does speaking up sound like in your circle? Who would distance themselves from you? Who would affirm you?
Standing up for my faith is simply speaking the Truth. Sticking to the Word of God and not wavering. Living the Word… it’s much different than just speaking it. Lead by example! I lead prayer with my kids so they know how to pray and effectively. (side note there is a strategy to prayer) The ones who don’t understand are the ones who would distance themselves from me. I think close family members, and friends would pull away. Understanding is only given by the Holy Spirit. You have to ask for it, and receive it with an open heart. God’s ways are higher than our ways, His thoughts Higher than our thoughts. There will be a slew of “christian’s” that lack in faith that will say, ” God wouldn’t want this.” “Don’t embarrass yourself” “you can’t win” Etc…… DO NOT ever stand up for your faith and belief in Jesus and allow these partial christian’s to sway you from what God is telling you, the Jesus you love and stand for, the Truth and the Word of God. After all, we are to not worry about what to say when standing before those prosecuting us. The Holy Spirit will give you the words. I can only pray that when I do come under fire, I’ve instilled so much in them about Jesus that they hold onto the hope, the Truth, and trust in Him the way I try to show by example.

Cut the zucchini in half long ways, as even as possible. To balance the zucchini cut the skin from the curve on the back side of the half. With a spoon, remove the seeds in the center giving you a “boat”. Fill with desired toppings and bake in the oven at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Or until cheese is golden brown. Let cool for 3-5 minutes and serve.
